Thanksgiving is early this year, which means some of those traditional Christmas/beginning of the season happenings in Bloomington are coming up even faster. If you’re looking for a way to get into the spirit of the season, check out some of these great events!

Canopy of Lights

Downtown Bloomington | November 24, 2017, 6pm-7:30pm

This traditional lighting of the downtown lights includes carols, community and fun. Check out the Facebook Event for more information.

Santa Claus at the Martinsville Candy Kitchen

Enjoy one of Indiana’s largest lighted Christmas displays, check out the shops on the square, and have a great time in Bedford.


Chimes of Christmas

IU Auditorium | December 3, times vary

The IU Singing Hoosiers annual Christmas show is a delight for the whole family. It sells out fast, so get info here and get your tickets at the Auditorium.


Gingerbread House Workshop

Tudor Room, Indiana Memorial Union | December 3 & 10, 3:30pm

Learn about Gingerbread houses, build your own, drink cocoa and even get a visit from Santa.


Stories with Santa

Pajamborie Party with Santa & Mrs. Claus

    Something we did last year that we went to was the Wylie House Christmas event. It’s at the Wylie House Museum near campus. There’s caroling and snacks, last year there was a Christmas story. It’s on December 9 this year, there’s an event on Facebook.
